It is very difficult, to tell the sex of a young guinea, under a year old..

There is two ways to tell the difference after they are older.

1. Listen to the sound they make. Hens make a two syllable sound and males will make a one syllable sound.

2. The size of the helmet and wattles. The male helmet and wattles are much larger than the female.
