My husband found Myrtle last fall in our pool filter. We thought she was going to die. He brought her in, put her in a box and put a light on her to warm her up. We decided it’s was too cold and harsh outside for her. So we found out an aquarium in our basement and rocks, my hubby ordered a filter and she moved into my kitchen. Myrtle grew and grew. Today, sadly we released her in the edge of the pond behind us. It was a sad but joyous moment. She needed to swim and catch fish. I will indeed miss her snapping at me when I walk by.
